Paramount Pictures has just released the trailer for “Heart of the Beast,” a new survival thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Ayer, the director with whom the Oscar-winning actor previously collaborated on the acclaimed war film “Fury.”
The Plot of Heart of the Beast
In the new film Heart of the Beast, superstar Brad Pitt plays James Belmont, a former Army Special Forces soldier who must find a way back to civilization after his small plane crashes in the heart of Alaska’s wilderness. Accompanied by a retired service dog named Odin, who will protect him from bears, wolves, and other predators and wild animals, Brad Pitt’s character will battle the elements of nature and be willing to do anything to cling to life.
“It’s not the dog’s size that matters in a fight, but the grit inside him,” Brad Pitt’s character says in the trailer, then promising the dog: “I’ll get you home. We just have to do it the hard way.”
The cast and crew of Heart of the Beast
Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe will join the cast alongside Pitt, who is also a producer alongside Olivia Hamilton and Marty Bowen, as well as director David Ayer. The project reunites Pitt and Ayer for the first time since “Fury,” their 2014 World War II blockbuster for Sony, and follows Brad Pitt’s starring role in the Oscar-nominated film “F1.”
“Heart of the Beast” was written by Cameron Alexander and executive produced by Alexander, Damien Chazelle, Scott Lumpkin, Chris Long, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, Andrew Lary, Sophie Cassidy, and Zack Conroy. The action thriller was produced in collaboration with Domain Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures and is a Wild Chickens, Temple Hill, and Kino World production. The release date for “Heart of the Beast” has been set for September 25 in the United States.
